Harvest Bowl Success !

What a night ! The First Annual Owen Sound Farmers Market Harvest Bowl Soup Supper was held on Wednesday October 22nd, 2008. This fund raising event was a huge hit with more than eighty-five customers joining us for an evening of food, art, music, and fun.

Patrons enjoyed an all you can eat sampling of eight locally produced hearty harvest soups (and we received countless “lip-smacking” signs of approval), along with coffee and dessert, while listening to the toe tapping sounds of The Gypsy Jive Band (Colleen Purdon, Joachim Ostertag and Gary Weinger). When it was all said and done, everyone got to keep their one of a kind artisan bowl, which was specially designed by area potters for this event.

Proceeds from this event went to support the Owen Sound Farmers Market Kitchen Project, but most importantly … everyone seemed to have a blast and proved again that community spirit is alive and well in Owen Sound at the Farmers Market.
